Kimber Graves, TBRI® Practitioner

Founder and Owner, Behind the Behavior Coaching, LLC

Kimber Graves brings together faith, research, and lived experience to help foster, adoptive, and kinship caregivers understand what is really happening behind challenging behaviors. She is a graduate of Hendrix College, and is a TBRI® Practitioner with more than two decades of experience in child welfare. She has worked as an adoption specialist for a global social services agency, as a telehealth parent coach, and as a trauma educator in churches, schools and community organizations.

As an adoptive parent herself, Kimber’s passion is deeply personal. She is an avid researcher, writer, and communicator who is committed to equipping families and communities with both practical tools and hope. Kimber has written for national publications, has been a guest on foster and adoption focused podcasts, and has spoken at national and regional conferences, churches, and seminars. At the heart of her work is a desire to offer education, empathy, and steady support to families who are hurting.

Kimber has been married to her husband, Scott, since 1992. They are the proud parents of three grown children, two of whom were adopted internationally, along with a bonus daughter and son through marriage, and two grandchildren.

Ethan Graves, TBRI® Practitioner

MDiv, PhD Candidate

Ethan brings a thoughtful blend of theological training, pastoral leadership, and trauma-informed care to his work with families and leaders. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Biblical Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a TBRI® Practitioner. Ethan is currently pursuing a PhD in Christian Leadership at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where his dissertation focuses on how Christian leaders can guide individuals who have experienced complex trauma through the difficulties of change.

As the father of a child on the autism spectrum, Ethan has devoted significant study and attention to best practices for supporting neurodivergent children and their families. His personal experience informs his compassionate, practical approach to care.

Ethan serves as the Senior Pastor of Crawford Road Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama, and has previously pastored churches in Indiana, Texas, and New Jersey. He and his wife, Nicole, have two children. When he finds a spare moment, Ethan enjoys making barbeque in his backyard or figuring out another unique way to make the “perfect” cup of coffee.
